Our Artisans

The Heart and Hands Behind Sifa Designs

At Sifa Designs, every creation begins with the touch of an artisan’s hands — hands that weave, shape, and tell stories through strands of natural fibers.

Our artisans are the soul of our brand. They are women and men across rural Africa who carry forward centuries-old weaving traditions, passed down from elders to the next generation.

Where Craft Meets Culture

From the dry plains of Binga, Zimbabwe, to the green hills of Rwanda and the coastal villages of Kenya, each region brings its own patterns, techniques, and spirit.

  • Binga, Zimbabwe: Known for the iconic Binga basket, each piece is woven from wild grass and palm leaves, dyed with natural pigments from tree bark and roots.

  • Rwanda: Artisans create intricate Agaseke baskets, symbolizing peace, love, and unity — once used to hold gifts during ceremonies.

  • Kenya: Our coastal artisans craft beautiful raffia and sisal pieces, blending traditional patterns with a modern twist.

Every basket carries the identity of its maker — no two are ever the same.
